Accessibility

The Le Roch Lab is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities.

Our commitment

We work toward Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard required of University of California websites by the UC Information Technology Accessibility Policy (IMT-1300). Accessibility is considered throughout the design, development and maintenance of this site.

Conformance status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard. We test as we build and address issues as they are identified.

What we do

  • Clear and consistent navigation
  • Semantic page structure and headings
  • Keyboard-accessible navigation and controls
  • Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images
  • Colour contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG AA on every text pairing
  • Clearly visible keyboard focus states
  • Descriptive links and buttons
  • Responsive layouts that support different screen sizes and zoom levels
  • Compatibility with common assistive technologies, including screen readers

Known limitations

We are aware of the following and are working on them:

  • Some animated elements do not yet fully honour the operating system’s “reduce motion” setting.
  • Publications link to articles hosted by their publishers. Those files are outside our control and their accessibility varies.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please tell us. Include the page address and a short description of the problem, and we will respond within five business days and work with you to provide the content in an accessible format.
