The lab works on why — the gene regulation, chromatin structure and non-coding RNA that let Plasmodium falciparum survive a human host, and the compounds that might stop it.
What you'd have to work with
Sequencing, confocal microscopy, mass spectrometry and campus computing, through the Institute for Integrative Genome Biology and the Center for Infectious Disease and Vector Research.
Thirteen people are in the lab now and sixty-eight have trained here since 2006. Applications are welcome at every level, from anyone who wants to work at the intersection of genomics and parasitology.
