What you'd be doing

Postdoctoral researchers conduct independent and collaborative research focused on parasite biology, RNA-based regulatory mechanisms, and the identification and characterization of novel antiparasitic compounds.

Day-to-day work means designing and performing laboratory experiments, analyzing and interpreting complex datasets, and contributing to manuscript preparation and publication. The role also involves presenting findings at group meetings and conferences, mentoring junior lab members, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to advance project goals.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Riverside, California, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and core research resources.

What we're looking for

  • Required

    Ph.D. in a relevant discipline

    Biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, molecular parasitology, RNA biology or closely related — held at the time of appointment.

  • Required

    Bench skills

    Molecular biology, biochemistry, cell culture and parasite handling, with experience in RNA biology or drug discovery techniques.

  • Required

    A publication record

    Research experience in parasitology, molecular biology, pharmacology or related fields, including peer-reviewed publications.

  • Required

    Data analysis

    Quantitative methods, statistical tools, and the software used to interpret biological and chemical data.

  • Required

    Communication

    Written and oral — drafting manuscripts and grants, and presenting results to audiences inside and outside the field.

  • Required

    Teaching & mentoring

    Supervising students, running technical training, and taking part in seminars and workshops.

  • Required

    Organisation

    Able to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, and to manage your own time.

  • Desirable

    Bioinformatics, screening or structural biology

    Experience with bioinformatics tools, high-throughput screening or structural biology is highly desirable.
