What you'd be doing
Doctoral students join the lab through a UC Riverside graduate program and take a thesis project of their own — most often in gene regulation, chromatin structure, non-coding RNA, or the systems biology of drug mechanism.
The lab takes a doctoral student when funding allows, rather than every year. The first two quarters are funded through the graduate program; after that, support comes from the lab's grants or from a teaching assistantship.
Whether laboratory rotations are available is still being confirmed. Email is the fastest way to get an answer.
